Saving America Year of the Lord's Favor

God’s Judgment Against America

APTOPIX Sept 11 Construction Glance

In 2003 when the Lord spoke to me about the rebuilt One World Trade Center, He said, “That building will be a sign and a seal of My judgment against America.” That statement shook me then and it shakes me now.

Many people are offended today to hear that God would judge America. I have been called a heretic, among other things. But does God judge us? If so, what does that look like and why?

God’s Judgment

First, does God judge us? The answer to that is yes and no. Personally, if we are truly followers of Jesus, there is no condemnation in Him (Romans 8:1). Even though we are no longer condemned personally, God will still deal with our sins to purge us of any wicked way. He can do that gently or harshly, depending on our willingness to submit. Even if God uses harsh methods to purge us of sin, we receive no judgment–Jesus has born the judgment for that sin on the cross. God is not angry at us, but like a good Father, will discipline us to lead us into righteousness. We will certainly stand judgment before God one day, but if we believe in Jesus, it will be a glorious day. In that day, Jesus will stand up in our place and declare that ALL our sins have been paid for by His perfect blood.

But what about America? America has not walked down the isle of a church to accept Jesus. It can’t. America is not a person, it is a nation. Really, America is an idea. Throughout history, arbitrary borders drawn on maps have changed many, many times. The only thing that makes America what it is, is the shared patriotism we have. The shared history. The shared destiny.

America cannot stand judgment before God one day. Jesus cannot wash away an idea’s sins. Our arbitrary borders along a map cannot be cleansed by the Lamb’s blood. No, America, and all nations for that matter, must stand judgment before God in their hour of existence. God is not out to destroy our land–the land will persist. But what makes America America is at stake right now. That idea that makes us who we are as a nation can evaporate in an instant.

And I’m afraid to say that if we do not change, it most certainly will.

The Solution

When God spoke to me that He would judge America, I had a foreboding sense of losing our sovereignty. There is no other way to see it. When God has judged nations in the past, most notably those in scripture, it is always a nation’s right to sovereignly govern themselves that God removes. Look at God’s judgments over Israel, Judah, Babylon, Assyria, Persia, Greece, etc.

Sometimes the judgments are temporary. Sometimes they are light. Sometimes they are complete, eradicating nations from history. The Lord spoke to me of what is coming to America back in 2003. What is absolutely sobering about that word is that One World Trade Center will be done in early 2014. The timing of what God showed me back then is almost complete.

I believe that the solution is repentance. 2 Chronicles 7:14 makes that very clear. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Repentance by God’s people on behalf of the nation will cause God to turn away from His anger over shared national sin. Our personal sins are covered by Jesus’ blood, but not our national sins. They will be judged in the here and now unless God’s people cry out and plead for His mercy. But if we do that–if we plead for God’s mercy–He will give it to us.

If you would like more information about what God spoke to me, I wrote a book, The Year of the Lord’s Favor, about that. I have also started a prayer initiative, 7:14 Prayer for America, to help believers cry out for our nation. I encourage you to read the book and participate in the prayer initiative.

What Will It Take?

01-Front-Cover-2402014 has begun. That is monumental to me. Why? Because 2013 was so sobering to me.

I had a dream in 2001, two days before the attacks of 9/11, where an angel escorted me around New York City. He showed me the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. I saw them in their beautiful glory and I told the angel I longed to visit them someday to gaze out over the city from their observation deck. As soon as I said that, the angel pointed to the buildings again. This time they collapsed straight into the ground. Thousands of terrified people ran past us, their faces in anguish. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Two days later I still couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The attacks of that day were sobering to the nation. They were sobering to me. I asked the Lord over and over again what it meant. Why did He show me those events two days in advance? What purpose did He have in doing so?

My answer came a year and a half later. The Lord spoke to me in another dream. He showed me the building that would replace the Twin Towers. I can say today that the building He showed me is exactly what is there today. I have twice stood at the base of that building, looking up. The first time was in a dream in March of 2003. The second time was in May of 2013, standing there in person. I stood in the same spot. The Lord had shown me the building ten years in advance. But for what?

In that dream, the Lord spoke to me. After the dream was over, I heard the voice of the Lord say, “That building will be a sign and a seal of My judgment against America.”

I wrote about those two dreams and what the Lord spoke to me in my book, The Year of the Lord’s Favor. I encourage you to read it today. The message the Lord has for us right now is crucial for us to understand.

That is why the advent of 2014 is so important to me. “That building,” One World Trade Center, formerly known as “Freedom Tower,” will be finished very soon this year. The Lord spoke to me in 2003 that when One World Trade Center was complete, it would stand as a sign and seal of His judgment against America.

This is a year that has dramatic consequences for our nation. I am burdened to pray for and awaken this nation, and its church, to seek God’s face. It will take His people following His command in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The Lord longs to save America from judgment, but He is not intimidated not to. He will bring judgment on this nation to purify it. He longs for a pure and spotless bride to come forth from America, so He will chasten us. He will revive us, even if it takes the pressure of His judgment.

But He longs to meet us in peace. He longs to meet us in the tranquility of His loving presence. What will it take for that to happen? It will take God’s people quickly returning to Him with everything they have. It will take an attitude of repentance.

It will take a willingness to admit that we have sinned and that we need God, and God alone to heal us.
And if we do that, He will. What will it take to save America? It will take a church willing to humble itself and ask this nation and our God for forgiveness. Forgiveness for altering the gospel. Forgiveness for living like the world. Forgiveness for giving license to this nation to heap up sin in the name of Christianity.

We can save this nation, but we must act quickly.

9/11: 12 Years Later

I have watched relatively closely over the past twelve years how America has responded to our greatest tragedy of a generation or more. Not since Pearl Harbor or the War of 1812 have we been attacked on our own soil with such dire consequences.

Today, like every 9/11 since 2001, news stations have been showing tributes, memorial montages and pieces highlighting the tragedy and heroism of that day. One thing I saw today that I have heard many times through the years was a statement by George W. Bush at the time.

“Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended.”
